Here Kitty, Kitty
The bear cub is about to make a big mistake. One which he probably will never make again.
This artwork depicts a scene from nature with a sense of whimsy and confrontation. At the center of the painting is a large, textured tree trunk. On the left side of the trunk, we see a brown bear with its front paws gripping the tree, peering intently to the right. Below this bear, partly obscured by the tree trunk, another bear’s face is visible, seemingly peeking out from behind the tree with an expression of curiosity and alarm. On the right side of the tree, another sibling is peering out to see what is happening.
Below these bears, in the foreground, rests another bear lying on a dark, rock-like structure with its head turned sideways, likely observing the unfolding scenario. The bear’s fur is rendered with a mixture of warm brown and lighter golden hues, accentuating its form and texture.
To the right of the composition stands a skunk, its tail raised prominently, displaying its well-known defensive posture. The skunk’s fur is depicted with detailed contrast, the stark white of the tail’s stripe standing out vividly against the black body.
The background is a soft, green landscape suggesting a grassy area with darker green trees that give an impression of a forested habitat. The artist has used a realistic style to depict the animals, while the interactions between them evoke a narrative quality that might inspire viewers to imagine a story behind the scene.
The original is 28"H x 22"W x 1.5"D on Gallery Wrap Canvas.
