I use well defined strokes and painstaking details in my art to capture the beauty of wildlife in the surrounding natural environment. My paintings use the widening movement of light to interpret the ideas about the world I live in where wildlife should be celebrated and preserved. I work primarily in oil.
The aim is to create paintings that invite audiences to participate. Engaging and capturing the audience in some way. My works engender the audience to imagine, speculate or further investigate. Hopefully the lesson learned is that life may be serious but we must take time to enjoy the fleeting moments, staying childlike makes all the difference in the journey! I am a native to Colorado where I currently reside.
Inspired by my favorite time of day, sunset. Capturing the light beams as they reflect off the landscape, color of the shadows and different color values. Spending meticulous time and attention to detail, purity of realism and translating inner vision to outer reality. When I am not out painting and watching the local wildlife, I can be reached at my Colorado studio.
